To all our family and friends,
Just a quick note requesting your prayers.
Please keep us and all the people of Mexico in your prayers as these drug wars are totally out of control. We feel that we are blessed to be here in this place at this time. This truly is a dark time in Mexico with all that is going on but we know that we have the light that is so desperately needed. We do not live in fear even though it has permeated all around us with different situations. We are looked upon as religious crazy people. We are here for evangelism and discipleship purposes. We are not here to take on a personal battle with the drug cartels. We preach Jesus Christ, repentance, new life and victory through what He has done for us. We are in the streets, at the hospitals, in the prison every week. We praise God for the freedom that He has given us.We have not written anything specific to you prior because we did not feel any eniment danger; however, today the situation has taken a turn for the worse. Let us explain that the on-going war between the four drug cartelsseems to cycle. Something will errupt and then it seems to quiet down for a period of time. The military is present with us at all times. They man the skies with helicopters and the streets with armed trucks. We feel that this is helpful. Last week we had a group from Kansas. All was quiet and we had a tremendous week. Today, everything errupted. The cartel or perhaps more than one, we do not know, stagged war against the military. The fighting broke out in five different areas of the city at one time. They blocked all the major highways in and out of Reynosa with transport trailers and staged their activity with high-powered rifles and grenades. We do not have statistics at this time; however, we know that at this writing, it is still on-going. Right now the border bridges are closed. No one is allowed to enter or leave this area.

Just today a huge protest was staged at the President's office downtown Reynosa with hundreds of people holding signs demanding that the military be sent back to Mexico City. All of this is a lie. The people have been bought off with food and money to protest so that the cartels will have full control of the northern border. Thank You for your prayers. Blessings. We love you. Bob & Donna
