as you know, i love to sing...in accordance with that, one of my favorite things about my church (besides the pastor) is the special music we have every sunday. lucky you, i have decided to share some of the lyrics from the last two weeks. if you like these songs and are looking to download them, you can download the first two from walmart. however, while walmart, shows the third one it is unavailable. okay, on to the music:
Find us Faithful, Steven Green:
Chorus:Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the footprints that we leave
Lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
Oh may all who come behind us find us faithful
The Anchor Holds, Ray Boltz:
i have journeyed
through the long dark night
out on the open sea
by faith alone
sight unknown
and yet his eyes were watching me
CHORUS
the anchor holds
though the ship is battered
the anchor holdsthough the sails are torn
i have fallen on my knees
as i faced the raging seas
the anchor holds
in spite of the storm
i've had visions
i've had dreams
i've even held them in my hand
but i never knew
they would slip right through
like they were only grains of sand
CHORUS
i have been young
but i am older now
and there has been beauty these eyes have seen
but it was in the nightthrough the storms of my life
ohh thats where God proved his love to me
My Tribute, Andrae Crouch:
Just let me live my life
And let it be pleasing Lord to thee
And should I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory
For the things He has done
To God be the glory, to God be the glory
To God be the glory,For the things He has done
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory,For the things He has done

school
so, school has officially started and it officially sucks. after being out of school for a year it has been hard to get back into "study mode." pray for me. my financial accounting class should be pretty easy, but my two healthcare classes are gonna kick my butt with the work load alone (and i don't know about the it/mis class cause it doesn't start til october). also, i am applying for a job at richardson regional and an internship at the VA hospital. not quite sure which one i wanna do yet or if i'll get either, but i need one of them. on a positive note, i have successfully read 400 pages of a textbook (a boring textbook) in two days. well, i am posting this before the last fifty pages are actually read, but they will be read before i go to bed.
YOU KNOW...
you know you jam too much in church when two people (the pastor and a chick in the choir) comment on it and the congregation is over 500 people
you know your pants are too big when you put a stapler in your back pocket and go to walk up stairs and they fall off
you know you live around college students when somebody calls your apartment luxurious and asks to move in with you despite the duck tape on the couch
you know you are cheap when you buy backyardigan bandaids just because they cost the exact same price as the plain brown ones and it makes you feel like you are getting more for your money

co workers
last friday all the viking pas went out to dinner at a great little hole in the wall restaurant called roma's (off of walnut hill and greenville?).
this is brian: to commemorate the start of school he tipped his mohawk orange. actually, samar tipped it for him.
this is lindsey: why only have one dessert fork when you can have two?

YAY! for camera
yesterday and today i babysat brock and braxton. which, besides being cute, brock always says the funniest things. for example, on the way to swim lessons today he informed me: "amanda, you need new tires, your car is too bouncy." once at swim lessons, grandma arrived in the observation room and brock announced: "i like my grandma's new haircut."
brock
if you're wondering why it isn't sunny it is because we were swimming at 8:00 in the morning

braxton... yes, he is tugging harley's hair. one good thing to be said for harley (whom i love) is that he can definately take a beating
braxton loves to splash!

brothers
i don't know what this face is about, but it makes me laugh
gotta love that smile!

this is what happens when you take a 2.5 year old to a shoe store and don't pay close enough attention to him:

braxton is soooo close to crawling... he gets up on all fours, reaches for what he wants, and if he can't get it, he rolls to whereever he is going
dear phil and megan: i got the big bed!!

you probably don't care, but i'm gonna tell you anyway
i'm not a big t.v. watcher (except for grey's anatomy). however, while in mexico this summer i would watch america's got talent on tuesday nights with leah and pita and since then have been hooked. now, i am upset. whoever voted for the final four must have been on drugs. cas haley and terry fator are greatness. however, the two girls (buttercup and julienne) are NOT good. jason and robert were much better and got the shaft. i will admit, julienne did have her best performance as her final song. personally, i think it has nothing to do with actual votes, but some old white dudes with money wanted to be politically correct and thought it would be wrong to have an all male finale so they picked two girls even though they aren't good. oh, well, i guess the alternative is to not watch. in the meantime, i hope cas or terry wins.
as for life, school starts on thursday, but i don't have class 'til monday. pray for me. i'm starting to get nervous and slightly freak out. i haven't been in school for a year and my undergrad degree was in neuroscience, completely unrelated to the accounting and crap i am taking now.
in other random news, my camera batteries are dead and i can't find the charger for my rechargables so there will be no more pictures until i go to arlington and can hopefully steal some batteries from my parents.

back to school
if i had a dime for every time i've heard "wait, i thought you graduated" in the last couple of days, i would be a millionaire instead of dirt poor.
yes, i graduated. but, i came back for a masters.

apartment and pa retreat pics
this is to the left of my bedroom door:
"dining area"--pantry on the right, kitchen on the left:
right side of my kitchen:
back wall and left side of my kitchen:
my bed and nightstand (at the foot of my bed is a window):
desk (window on right and left side):
the left side of my living room--the shades cover the sliding glass door leading to the balcony:
right side of my living room--the end table is right next to the front door--and there is another lamp on the other end of the couch:
wall '0 shelves?--random shelves on the wall next to my front door seperating the living room from the kitchen

okay, now for p.a. retreat. monday-wednesday we were at cherokee landing (a campingish place) for team bonding/training stuff. out of thirty-something pictures i somehow did not get a single group picture.

laundry center
for some of you, doing laundry at a community laundry center may seem like no big deal. however, i am a snob and have always had a washer and dryer (yes, even in college). so, since this was my very first attempt at paying for my laundry i documented it.
ready to go:
step one: get money card (if you are from the era of coin operated, they no longer exist cause people like phil rig them and never have to pay)
ready to go:
disgusting

hairspray

i have a confession to make: i am somewhat obsessed with hairspray. i have listened to my soundtrack so much since megan gave it to me that i ruined it. yesterday was a very sad day when my cd wouldn't play. however, my friend, linz, surprised me this morning at training with a new copy. life is good again!!
