i'm not sure what to think...

okay, it is a well known fact that utd's mascot temoc is ridiculous. yes, his name is comet spelled backward and yes he is goofy looking. yes, other teams make fun of us and yes we wish we would change him.
however, utd is taking it one step further. instead of simply discussing changing the mascot, they are taking a vote on whether or not to change the whole nickname. they have narrowed it down to four choices. **drum role please** 1. stay the comets 2. coyotes 3. red hawks 4. knights
a couple words on the choices. first, some girl suggested red hawks because they live around here and are loyal (something like that). i guarantee she has never played sports in her life. secondly, no the knights is not the fighting knights of old, it is the chess piece. however descriptive it may be, having a chess piece as your mascot is just as ridiculous as having a flaming sperm.
in short, i don't really know how i feel about this whole thing. i have been at utd for what seems like forever and have come to embrace the nerdiness that comets imply. besides the fact that i don't think the other choices are any better than what we already have. so, in short, changing temoc is good but let's not go crazy.
